Els seus s\u00f2ls volc\u00e0nics rics en nutrients, combinats amb altituds elevades i un clima fresc, creen condicions ideals per al cultiu de caf\u00e8 ar\u00e0biga d&#8217;alta qualitat. <\/p>\n<p>A Kenia, gran part del caf\u00e8 no es processa en les pr\u00f2pies finques, sin\u00f3 en estacions de rentada comunit\u00e0ries \u2014conegudes localment com a \u201cf\u00e0briques\u201d\u2014 on els petits productors lliuren les seves cireres recentment recol\u00b7lectades. Aquestes estacions exerceixen un paper fonamental en la qualitat final del caf\u00e8, ja que all\u00ed es realitzen les primeres etapes del benefici humit. <\/p>\n<p>Al llegar a la estaci\u00f3n de lavado, las cerezas se clasifican cuidadosamente para eliminar defectos o materiales extra\u00f1os. Posteriormente, se despulpan y los granos se fermentan y lavan para retirar el muc\u00edlago antes de pasar a los patios de secado. Les famoses SL28 i SL34 van ser desenvolupades en la d\u00e8cada de 1930 per Scott Laboratories i s\u00f3n considerades responsables de molts dels perfils m\u00e9s emblem\u00e0tics del caf\u00e8 de Kenya, coneguts per la seva acidesa brillant, estructura i gran complexitat arom\u00e0tica. <\/p>\n<p>Al costat d&#8217;elles es troben Batian i Ruiru 11, varietats m\u00e9s modernes desenvolupades per a oferir major resist\u00e8ncia a malalties i millors rendiments per als productors.
