Exploring Colombian coffee

Café de Colombia fincas

Colombian coffee is synonymous with top-tier coffee. World-renowned for its diversity of flavor profiles and the dedication of each of its coffee growers, this South American country offers some of the best coffee experiences in the world. At Sensorial Coffee Roasters, we celebrate this richness with a special selection of coffees that stand out for their quality and character. In today's post, we will tell you about the farms where our Colombian coffees come from.

Santuario Farm

Located in the mountainous region of southwestern Colombia, Santuario Farm is found in a privileged enclave for growing specialty coffee. Surrounded by a diverse ecosystem and a unique climate, the farm takes advantage of altitudes ranging from 1800 to 2100 meters above sea level, as well as nutrient-rich volcanic soil. These conditions create the perfect setting for developing coffees with complex and distinctive sensory profiles.

Santuario's climatic diversity allows for a slow maturation of the coffee cherries, intensifying the flavors and ensuring outstanding quality in every bean. Additionally, the farm implements sustainable farming practices that respect the natural environment and support the development of local communities. This commitment to excellence and sustainability has made Santuario a benchmark within the coffee industry.

At Sensorial Coffee Roasters, we are proud to offer two exceptional coffees from this origin. Each one captures the essence of Santuario Farm and the richness of its surroundings. We invite you to discover them and enjoy the magic that this Colombian terroir has to offer.

Macizo Regional Selection

The Colombian Massif, a mountainous region of unique beauty in southern Colombia, is world-renowned for the production of high-quality coffees. In this area, small producers perpetuate a coffee tradition that dates back more than three centuries, offering a diversity of unique and exceptional flavors.

The coffee farms, mostly family-owned, are true treasures inherited from generation to generation. These farms are strategically located at over 1700 meters above sea level, where the climate and soil conditions are ideal for growing Arabica coffee. This combination of altitude, tradition, and care translates into coffee beans that stand out both for their sensory profile and their history.

At Sensorial, we are proud to collaborate directly with small producers in the Colombian Massif. We work hand in hand with them to select the most outstanding beans, valuing not only their exceptional quality but also the effort and passion behind each harvest.

Campo Hermoso Farm

Campo Hermoso represents a coffee legacy that has transcended generations. This farm is part of the heritage of Don Enrique Noreña, whose youngest son, Edwin, inherited the passion for coffee growing and became a partner of Santuario in Colombia. Six years ago, Campo Hermoso joined forces with the Santuario Project to implement innovative processes that enhance the unique flavors of each coffee origin managed by Santuario.

In 2023, this collaboration reached a new level with the construction of a Research and Development Center in Armenia. This space is dedicated to exploring new processing techniques and raising quality standards. In addition, Santuario and Campo Hermoso have a receiving station in San Adolfo, Huila, where more than 28 farmers participate in the Santuario Program. The recent acquisition of a farm in Argelia, Valle del Cauca, has expanded their portfolio with varieties such as Sudan Rume and other exotic varietals.

At Campo Hermoso, coffee is not just a crop; it is an art and a tradition. Generation after generation, coffee-growing families work with passion to produce an exceptional coffee that captures the essence of their legacy.
