Cold Brew Method: cold-brewed coffee, smooth and sweet
Cold brew is coffee prepared by steeping ground coffee in cold or room-temperature water for 12 to 24 hours. It is not hot coffee that has been chilled. Without heat, the extraction is slow and releases fewer bitter and acidic compounds, resulting in a well-rounded and sweet cup, with notes of chocolate, nuts, or ripe fruit, depending on the origin.
In this category, you will find cold brew coffee makers and carafes with an integrated filter to prepare, strain, and store everything in a single vessel. It keeps in the fridge for several days, so you'll have coffee ready to drink over ice, with milk, or in your recipes.
To get started, use a coarse grind and a ratio of about 80–100 g of coffee per liter of water. Let it steep in the fridge for 12–18 hours and then strain it. If you prefer it stronger, prepare it as a concentrate and dilute it with water or milk when serving.
