The world of coffee has traditionally been dominated by men, but in recent years, more and more women are taking an active role in the coffee industry. From producers to baristas and roasters, women are making their mark in the world of specialty coffee.
First and foremost, it is important to acknowledge that women have been involved in coffee production for centuries. In many coffee-producing countries, such as Colombia, Brazil, and Ethiopia, women have been responsible for cultivating and harvesting coffee beans. However, they have often been overlooked in the coffee industry and have not received the recognition and compensation appropriate for their work.
Nowadays, women are gaining ground in all aspects of the coffee industry. In producing countries, women are forming cooperatives and organizations to have a greater voice in decision-making and to ensure they receive fair compensation for their work. Furthermore, within the supply chain, women are working as green coffee buyers, ensuring that coffee beans are of high quality and sourced from sustainable origins.
In coffee shops and cafes, women are making waves as baristas and managers.
At Sensorial Coffee, we want to take the opportunity of today being International Women's Day to thank all the women who are part of the company and who work daily with dedication and passion to achieve our goals. Thank you for your commitment and dedication.
On this International Women's Day, we commit to continuing to support women in our company and around the world. Together, we can work toward gender equality and justice for all women.
Happy International Women's Day!
