More about this coffee from Brazil

Sourced from the Longitude farm in the Paraná region of Brazil, this lot from producer Jose Rezende is an explosion of chocolate in every cup: dense, sweet, and with that intense body characteristic of the best natural-process Brazilian coffees.

Grown at 800 meters above sea level, the Longitude farm works with the Mundo Novo variety, a classic of Brazilian coffee known for its vigor, high productivity, and, above all, its ability to express deep, chocolatey profiles when processed naturally. It is precisely this process that defines the character of this coffee: the cherries are dried whole, allowing the bean to absorb all the sweetness of the fruit and develop those notes of dark chocolate, caramel, and raisins that define it.

With 84.50 SCA points, a perfectly clean cup, and maximum sweetness in sensory analysis, Cacao Bomb stands out for its balance and well-rounded character. It has low acidity, an intense body, and an aftertaste that invites you to linger a little longer. It is designed especially for espresso and latte, where its chocolatey profile shines brightly both on its own and combined with milk.

An authentic and generous expression of Brazilian specialty coffee.
Coffee processing
The process

Natural

At Finca Longitude, the natural process is much more than a technique: it is a conscious decision to let the fruit speak for itself. Once the cherries are harvested at their optimal point of ripeness, they are spread out whole in the sun to dry slowly, without the bean ever coming into contact with water. Over several weeks, the bean absorbs the sugars and aromas from the surrounding pulp, developing that characteristic density and sweetness that make this coffee so recognizable.

The result is a coffee with low acidity and intense body, where chocolate and caramel melt together with a final hint of raisins that rounds out every sip. A process that demands patience, control, and expertise, but when executed well, as it is here, produces some of the most expressive and memorable coffees that Brazil has to offer.

The variety

New World

Mundo Novo is one of the most emblematic varieties of Brazilian coffee and one of the reasons why Brazil established itself as a global coffee powerhouse. Emerging naturally as a cross between Typica and Bourbon, this variety brings together the best of two worlds: the aromatic elegance and sweetness of its parents, combined with a robustness and productivity that make it ideal for the conditions of the Brazilian landscape.

Its tall stature and great adaptability have made it a trusted choice for producers like Jose Rezende, who seek consistency harvest after harvest without sacrificing cup quality. In the case of this Brazil coffee, Mundo Novo expresses its full potential through the natural process, revealing a deep, chocolaty profile with a natural sweetness that requires no additions. A classic that remains, decades later, one of the greats of specialty coffee.
